Adding Color To My Life

Oh, Crayola!  You have been a huge part of my life forever!  As a teacher, I have an excuse to use you everyday, but now, oh man, now I have a better excuse!
Enter...

Crayola Chubby Sticks, by Clinique!  Guys!!!!!!  These are AMAZING!  This is coming from someone who does NOT like makeup.  Seriously, I do not like the way that it feels on my face, but I am not getting any younger and I need to do something to look more "put together".
So, these Chubby Sticks have a creamy texture and they go on super smooth.  What I like most is that the colors are not the ones that stain your lips.  These have a lighter appearance, even the bolder colors.

My only disappointment with these is that the case didn't come with all ten colors.  For some silly reason tickle me pink and razzmatazz are sold as individual sticks only.

Clinique will only have these Crayola Cubby Sticks for a limited time, so if I were you, I would jump over to their site and grab a set today.

So my Crayola finds didn't end at the amazing Chubby Sticks.  Have you seen these My Color Is... packs?!?!  Each color pack is loaded with Crayola's fabulous products, but in only that color.

I was able to find My Color Is Pink, at my local Target, but I am on the hunt for the other colors.  The window crayon has been a huge hit in our house lately, and I can't wait to use it in my classroom.

Long Time...No Post

I am seriously embarrassed that it has been such a long time since I posted.  I have a good reason though...I had my first child.  Last school year, I decided to focus on my pregnancy health, while still teaching full time.  Let me tell you...growing a human while teaching small humans is no joke!  It was crazy exhausting and stressful!  I am here to say that it can be done.  Plus, this year's challenge will be teaching small humans while being a new mom.  Yikes!!!  I am nervous just thinking about it.  

I won't be heading back to work for a few months, but during that time I plan to post more regularly; I promise they won't be all baby posts.  I do plan on changing the content of the blog a bit to accommodate this big change in my life.  I am excited to be back and look forward to connecting with you all again!!!

If only he slept like this all the time!

Any advice for a new mama?

Currently - September

Well my summer vacation is officially over!  I am not sure where it went, but I am super excited to meet my new class tomorrow.  In the spirit of ending and beinginning, I am linking up with the amazing Farley for this month's Currently.

Ohh Scentos!  You get me!! How can you not love smelly pens?!?!  I am in love with these 10 in pens!

Next week starts two new units for my kiddos: Fairy Tales and Geometry.  If you have any fabulous ideas please send them my way.  I love these two units, but any ideas that you have to make everything ENGAGING, ENGAGING, ENGAGING I would appreciate.
Speaking of engaging, have you ever used Erica's Literacy Centers?  If you haven't...you and your kiddos are missing out!  Her centers are so well thought out.  My kiddos rock the socks off of them and learn so much each week!  I am so grateful for TPT creators like Erica!

Currently - March

Happy March!!!  I am so excited for all of the amazing teaching to come this month!  March is filled with nonfiction reading and writing in my classroom.  What is your central literacy theme this month?

Currently- February

YAY!  I love February!  But where have I been?!  I just realized I haven't blogged in a while.  That needs to change, I have so many wonderful things to share with you!
Here is a quick look at what I am currently up to...

The truths:
I love skiing!  My love started more as a push, but I kept my balance and crossed many finish lines.  I took this love all over the United States and skied with so many incredible athletes.  I still love going fast with snow blowing past me.
I am a lefty!  This world was not made for us, but I do my best to embrace it daily!

The fib:
I HATE squash!  I love yummy healthy foods, but there is something about squash that I despise!

Where did 2013 go?!?!  It was an amazing year, and as I sit here and cuddle with my pup, I know 2014 is going to rock!

Currently-November

I survived conferences and am ready to start report cards (yeah right!)!  I did make it through conferences, with only a couple no shows this week.  So now, I need to start Monday by tracking down the families that didn't show.  I make it a point to meet with every family, even if that means a home visit.  And, reports cards are around the corner...ekkk!
Here is what is CURRENTLY happening...

It is definitely hot chocolate weather in Oregon!  I love the yummy drink, but honestly the marshmallows are my favorite part.  I found this recipe for honey lavender marshmallows and can't wait to whip up a batch.
